The World Energy Council

Ms Pirjo Jantunen is the Chair of World Energy Council's Future Energy Leaders, an international network of 100 exceptional individuals from across the globe who represent the different players the energy sectors is composed of, including government, energy industry, academia, civil society and social entrepreneurs. The network allows the energy leaders of tomorrow to debate and discuss the key goals of the council, shape the vision of tomorrow’s energy system and to network with colleagues around the world.

Also, Ms Pirjo Jantunen is a corporate social responsibility and environmental professional with more than eight years of work experience in the energy industry. She is currently working at Helen, Finnish energy utility, with a broad range of responsibilities including corporate social responsibility, environmental management and communication. Her passion is to improve organisations’ responsibility together with stakeholders.

She is currently finalising a master’s degree in Corporate Environmental Management at the School for Business and Economics of the University of Jyväskylä. In 2010, Pirjo undertook a master’s degree in environmental management and Responsible Business at Aalto University School of Science and Technology, Finland. She also holds a degree in Sustainable Development from the Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Finland (2008).
